There are 112 x 2000AD issues plus the 2000AD Sci-Fi Specials from 1980 and 1985.
There are also stories in the 2000AD annuals from 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, including Rogue Trooper stories. As far as we are aware, that makes a total of 119 original first print items.
On top of this, there are 3 reprints in 2000AD progs in progs 467, 532 and 590. Prog 532 has a reprint of 'The Killer in the Cab' which was from Prog 170. We don't bother including these 3 issues with our sets as the original progs they appear in are already included. Original re-prints of Alan Moore's work are in the Best of 2000AD Monthly as well.
We last updated this page in November 2020 after finding that Alan Moore's story in the Sci-Fi special 3. Took us ages to buy in 6 copies for our sets as they are rare here in the UK. Of the 6 issues, 2 had the crosswords filled in and 3 had detached centre pages, 2 FN and 3 VG+ and 1 VG. The fine (FN) ones are going for around £15-£20 and good VG+ issues around £7-10 plus postage, so we are adding to existing sets without increasing the prices.
Most of our sets do NOT contain the annuals, due to weight and also the difficult of finding nice, un-clipped copies without writing and crosswords filled in. In the UK, annuals were given as Christmas presents and kids mums and dads often wrote inside the front cover. The price tag (RRP Recommended Retail Price) of the annuals were on the bottom of the right corner of the first interior page and many annuals are 'clipped' meaning that the bottom corner price tags were cut off with scissors. The best stories are in the progs and sci-fi specials but it's interesting seeing Alan Moore writing Rogue Trooper stories, rather than creating his own characters and stories.
